Desiree Liwosz, Research Assistant, earned a Masters in Social Work with concentrations in Social Policy & Evaluation and Community & Social Systems with a minor in Community Organization from the University of Michigan School of Social Work and a B.S. in Social Work with a double major in Psychology from Eastern Michigan University. Desiree has experience using mixed methods through literature review and market analysis, creating protocol for and conducting key informant interviews and focus groups, survey design, and qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Desiree also has experience in substance abuse counseling and group facilitation, and facilitation of intergroup dialogue and cultural competency programs. She has specific interests in racial disparities in education and health, working with at- risk youth, community organization and development, empowerment evaluation and the use of cultural competency within evaluation.
